The Film
One of the most well-known and beloved documentaries, Hoop Dreams is a thrill from start to finish. Originally intended as a 30-minute PBS special, the filmmakers amassed 250 hours of film, which was edited down to nearly three hours.
William Gates and Arthur Agee are two likable teenagers who want to play basketball in the NBA. We meet their families and seemingly witness every moment of their lives — joyful as well as heartbreaking. Three hours fly by watching this captivating documentary.
